Solution 1 – Update your Account in QuickBooks Online

Whenever any bank website goes under maintenance it gives you a sign specifying “Website under maintenance”. If you are unable to see any maintenance signs, issues on your bank and credit card website, don’t get worried you can update your QuickBooks Online manually. Proceed with the below steps:

  • Go inside the left menu bar of the “QuickBooks” then click on the “Banking” option from the available options. 
  • Click on the “Update” button present at the upper right corner to get more information about updates. 
  • Now open the updates tab to update QuickBooks Online “automatically” and “manually”
  • During peak hours, try to run three manual updates.

Automatic Updates

If any questions arise to your mind with regards to automatic updates from your bank then you are on the right platform. Here you will know everything about it: This update begins at 3 AM, Pacific time. If your QuickBooks Online server is unable to generate the updated information for a specific QuickBooks Online Account, or not capable of updating your account information then it attempts more than five times within five hours. Find the Updated Time and Date

  • Choose the “Banking” option from the left menu of available options.
  • Place your cursor top right corner and then hit the “Update” button
  • Inside the last updated column, the last update date or time are listed

Manual Updates

Banking error 102 in QuickBooks usually resolves within a period of 24 hours. In the meantime, you can manually update the QuickBooks Online bank connection to fix the error issue. Check below how to do this in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Self-Employed. 

In QuickBooks Online

  • Sign in to “QuickBooks Online” with your credentials including email or password
  • Reach the “Banking menu or Transactions menu”
  • Click on the “Update” option

Note: If the error persists then wait for 2-3 hours and then try once again.

In QuickBooks Self-Employed

  • Sign in to “QuickBooks Self-Employed” with your credentials including email or password
  • Choose the “Profile ⚙” icon and then Bank accounts
  • Click on the “Refresh all”

For Updated Time and Date

If you do not get the update time and date through automating updates then you can move on to manual updates. In this method, we have updated your account manually.

  • Click “Menu” at the left corner of your screen then choose “Banking”
  • Choose “Clear Unwanted accounts” to update only selected accounts
  • Click on the “Update Now”
  • Give your “Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)” if prompts on your screen, click to display within 2 minutes then click on the “continue”

When you do a manual update then the next 90 days it will update any new listing automatically. Within 90 days, you do not need to update your account again and again it will automatically update your account information.

Solution 2:- Check your Bank or Credit card’s website

According to Intuit: “Is your Bank Account new?” If your bank account is new, it may not be still available to connect to an online bank right now. But if you will get QB banking error 102 highly recommended to reach to your bank or credit card company to keep safe.

Check the bank and credit card’s website to check whether everything is working perfectly on their end or not. To check follow the below steps:

  • Firstly, Sign in to your bank or credit card’s official site with your valid credentials. If you are unable to sign in, then reach out to your bank or credit card company to know about the next steps
  • Check for any messages, notifications, or alerts helping you to tell if something isn’t working.
  • Review your account pages, account history, and transactions. If you are unable to see these all then there may be a possibility of being affected through connection issues.

Solution 3:- Check your Login Credentials

If you are trying to login to your account using the Bank URL but you are unable to connect with your bank account so below are some steps. These steps will describe to you how you can add your bank account to download and troubleshoot transactions because of this problem the QB banking error 102 occurs.

  • Go inside the left menu bar of the “QuickBooks” then choose the “Banking” option from the available options.
  • If you did not link your account before then place the cursor in the search box and find your Bank name.
  • If you already linked your account then simply click on “Add account” then search your respective bank and click on it.
  • Then you need to login into your account by filling in your login information and then login into your account.
  • After that, you need to select the symbol of your bank and then put the mouse on the drop-down and choose to connect.
  • After that select the type of your Bank account. If you are new then have to make an account by clicking on the “Add new” button.
  • After successfully joining your account. Then you will get the access to automatically update your transaction for 90 days.
  • After that press the “Connect” button
  • When you have to download the transaction then it will redirect you to the bank page.

The “Review” option will help you give a review of downloaded banking transactions or financial institutions.

Note: If your bank option is not available, fail to connect, or require more than 90 days of data. At that moment you have to contact your bank to download transactions from your bank website and upload them to QuickBooks Online.

Unable to login
